Due to the overwhelming demand, our 2-Day EMC Benchtop Testing & EMI Troubleshooting Course on 8–9 September has now sold out.
To meet the growing interest in practical EMC engineering, we are pleased to announce that our 2-Day EMC Design Course will run immediately afterwards on 10–11 September.
For engineers who are new to EMC, we strongly recommend attending the 2-Day Benchtop Testing & EMI Troubleshooting Course before progressing to the design course. Understanding how EMC problems are measured and diagnosed provides a natural foundation for learning effective EMC design techniques. However, if you already have a solid EMC background, we recommend booking the design course soon, as places are limited and demand is high.
To ensure every delegate receives plenty of interaction with the instructors, we limit each course to a maximum of eight engineers.
Unlike traditional EMC design courses that focus mainly on theory, our 2-Day EMC Design Course is highly practical, with plenty of live demonstrations throughout the two days. Each day, delegates will be given a challenging design task, such as designing an EMC filter or a switched-mode power supply, and will apply the knowledge they have learned to develop a design with the best chance of passing EMC testing first time. The course is designed to be interactive, practical and engaging, giving engineers hands-on experience in solving real EMC design problems.
Meet Your Instructors
The 2-day EMC Design Course will be delivered by Dr Min Zhang and Mr Steve Berry, combining decades of practical EMC and power electronics experience.

Introducing Steve Berry
Steve Berry is a Senior Principal Power Electronics Engineer with over 38 years of experience in the design, development and optimisation of advanced power conversion systems.
Specialising in converters, inverters, motor drives and high-efficiency power electronics, Steve has worked across a wide range of industries, including industrial automation, high-energy physics and consumer electronics. He has particular expertise in SiC and GaN power electronics, EMC and signal integrity.
Throughout his career, Steve has held senior engineering and research positions at Dyson Technology, the Compound Semiconductor Applications Catapult, and Emerson Control Techniques, contributing to products ranging from precision power supplies to multi-megawatt power conversion systems.
His experience spans the complete product lifecycle—from system architecture and detailed hardware design to testing, EMC compliance and customer support. A passionate engineer and mentor, Steve combines deep theoretical knowledge with practical engineering expertise in hardware design, real-time control systems, magnetics and simulation. He enjoys solving challenging engineering problems by getting to the root cause.
A Successful June Training Course
We would also like to thank everyone who attended our June 2-Day EMC Benchtop Testing & EMI Troubleshooting Course. The feedback was outstanding, and it was fantastic to see so much enthusiasm throughout the two days.
One of the highlights of the course is the amount of practical experience each delegate receives. Every engineer had around 1.5 hours of individual hands-on testing time each day, working directly with professional EMC equipment rather than simply watching demonstrations. This practical approach was extremely well received, with delegates particularly appreciating the opportunity to perform real measurements and troubleshoot genuine EMC problems themselves.
